About Me

Omari Brown is a comedy writer, producer and actor who's currently an Associate Producer on the Emmy winning The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

He got his training from Chicago but originally started in Richmond, VA. Omari is a proud graduate of The Second City-Chicago's Training Center's Conservatory program. Omari also completed iO-Chicago's 'SNL Sketch Packet' and 'Late Night Writer's Workshop' classes taught by former Saturday Night Live, Late Night with Conan O'Brien and The Late Show with David Letterman writers while performing regularly on iO-Chicago's house team, The Pool.

In 2019, Omari accepted the offer by joining the 'Apprentice Program' at the start of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert's fifth season. Omari became the first and only comedian, from The Late Show's apprentice diversity program, to pitch and co-write a sketch to air called, 'Black Future Month' starring In Living Color alum David Alan Grier. In 2021, Omari, along with The Late Show staff, received a Peabody Award and part of the Outstanding Variety Special (Live) Emmy award win.

In 2023, Omari was selected as a finalist at Just For Laughs presents Stand-up & Pitch in Montreal for writing an original comedy pilot. Omari was given the platform to present his pilot to network comedy development executives. Paramount, Comedy Central, NBC to name a few. Recently, Omari performed stand-up in the 'Don't Tell Comedy' showcase.

In July 2025, Omari flew back to Montreal as he became a finalist in the inaugural Just For Laughs: Sitcom Speed Pitch program. At the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, Omari was part of The Late Show's Emmy win for Outstanding Talk Series. Be on the lookout for Omari in the upcoming 2026 action-comedy, The Wrecking Crew starring Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista—assuming they don’t cut his small non-speaking scene.

Also a contributing writer for BSKT magazine. A magazine about all things on basketball culture. Sold at newsstands all over the world. Interviews from basketball legends to celebs like Muggsy Bogues, Mannie Fresh, and issue #5 was featured in the Emmy nominated Jingle Hoops 2024 reboot commercial.

Omari's a proud active member of Television Academy and Producers Guild of America
