About Me
Omari Brown is a comedy writer, producer and actor who's currently an Associate Producer on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. He received his training from Chicago but originally started in Richmond, VA. In 2012, Omari moved to Chicago and became a proud graduate of The Second City-Chicago's Training Center's Conservatory program. Omari also completed iO-Chicago's 'SNL Sketch Packet' and 'Late Night Writer's Workshop' classes taught by former Saturday Night Live, Late Night with Conan O'Brien and The Late Show with David Letterman writers while performing regularly on iO-Chicago's house team, The Pool.
In 2019, Omari accepted the offer by joining the 'Apprentice Program' at the start of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert's fifth season. Omari became the first and only comedian, from The Late Show's apprentice diversity program, to pitch and co-write a sketch to air called, 'Black Future Month' starring In Living Color alum David Alan Grier, discussing the great Black achievements from the future. In 2021, Omari, along with The Late Show staff, received a Peabody Award and an Emmy Award.
In 2023, Omari was selected as a finalist at Just For Laughs presents Stand-up & Pitch in Montreal for creating and writing an original comedy pilot. Omari was given the platform to present his pilot to network comedy development executives. Paramount, Comedy Central, NBC to name a few. Recently, Omari performed stand-up in the 'Don't Tell Comedy' showcase.
Omari's a proud active member of Television Academy and Producers Guild of America.
